Another person is blurred in the background. A young person with long hair climbs an indoor rock wall at a Brooklyn after school program, looking upward while gripping a yellow hold and balancing on angled surfaces with blue, gray, and yellow holds.

Mini-Mountaineers Drop-In Class (Ages 3-4)

A 45-minute drop-in class for our youngest climbers to channel their explosive, creative energy into climbing in a safe, fun environment with their parent or caretaker! Excellent option for kids who are already exploring climbing structures at the playground and more. Participants will develop their risk assessment, basic body awareness, and teamwork.

Participants must be potty-trained.

Sundays: 9:00 AM – 9:45 AM

Two children in colorful clothes climb an indoor bouldering wall with large blue, purple, and orange holds, focused and mid-action—a perfect image to showcase your Youth Program on a landing page template.

Pebbles (Ages 5-6)

This class introduces young climbers to the fundamentals while building up their skills. Watch as they grow and have a blast reaching new heights! Each week, we will introduce climbers to a new concept and grow on the previous weeks’ focus. Students will work on risk assessment, safety, problem-solving, and so much more in a fun, social environment.

Fall classes go on sale to the public to August 24th at NOON.

Days & Times: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 4:00-5:30pm. Saturday 9:30-11:00a

Three children are on a dark floor at Brooklyn Climbing Yoga and Fitness; one sits cross-legged, another lies on their back with eyes closed, and the third lies on their side pointing upward, all appearing relaxed and engaged together.

Rocks (Ages 7-9)

This fun-filled class strengthens the basics of climbing, like footwork and body awareness, to deepen their understanding. Additionally, climbers will be introduced to more complex topics such as power, static vs. dynamic movement, and more, in a gamified approach.

Fall classes go on sale to the public to August 24th at NOON.

Register for Boulders Continual Enrollment (Ages 10-12)

Boulders runs on an ongoing monthly registration! This means:

  • Continuous Enrollment: Your child will stay enrolled in the program automatically until you decide to stop.
  • Simple Monthly Billing: You’ll now be charged on the first of every month, instead of signing up every seasonal session.
  • Consistent Value: The price still breaks down to the same great value as our previous 10-week sessions, $35 per class. Your monthly rate will depend on how many classes are happening that particular month.
  • Flexible Make-Ups: If your child misses a class or we have to cancel a class, we’ve got you covered! They can either join a makeup class or receive a day pass added to their account to use at their convenience.
  • Larger Class Size: Boulders classes are up to 15 kids compared to 10 (Rocks & Pebbles)

Registration opens AUGUST 24th at NOON.

Days & Times: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Friday 4:00-6:00pm. Sunday 10:30am-12:30pm.

Youth Rules and Expectations

Climbing is an exciting and fun sport—but it does come with risks. We insist on highly-attentive adult supervision to mitigate these risks for youth and other climbers. Before climbing with us, please read through our Rules and Expectations.

  1. Youth under the age of 14 must be closely accompanied by an adult at all times.
  2.  Our supervision ratio is 2 to 1; up to 2 youth climbers can be supervised by 1 adult chaperone at a time.
  3. Stay far from the walls and out of fall zones when moving through the gym or waiting to climb. A “fall zone” is anywhere on the mats where a climber could land if they were to fall.
  4. Make sure to check where a route ends before starting to climb–some routes are close together or even overlap, and you don’t want to end up directly above, below, or next to another climber.
  5. This is a climbing gym! Please save running, wrestling, horseplay, and gymnastics for other spaces.

Due to programming, the youth room is unavailable on certain days and times each week. When not in use for programming, the Youth Room is open and available for you to enjoy! To stay in the know, check out our Youth Room highlight on Instagram.

In general, the Youth Room is unavailable during the following times:

  • Weekdays from 4 PM – 6PM
  • Weekends from 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM
  • When Adventure Days & Weeks are occurring
  • When a private birthday event is booked (often occurring on Saturdays and Sundays: 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM, 3 PM – 5 PM)

Have questions about climbing, the facility, or risk? Ask our staff—we are here to help.
