CLIMBING IS A LIFELONG PATH.

Never Static – that’s how we grow.  We offer climbing classes in the Boston area at our Somerville gym for all ages and experience levels, from youth programs for the next generation of rock climbers, to classes aimed at climbers ready to make the next leap forward on their path. Check out our classes below.

INTRO TO BOULDERING PROJECT

First time? We’ve got you! This 45-minute class is the starting point for first-time climbers to get confident navigating our space and climbing on the walls.

LEARN THE ROPES

This 2-hour introductory level class is for those that want to climb higher than boulders have to offer. In this class you will learn how to tie a figure eight knot, how to use a GriGri, how to check an indoor top rope system, and gain the experience needed to start your top rope adventure. You will leave class with the skills needed to pass a top rope belay test. This class includes an extra day pass to come back and take a top rope belay test.

BOULDERING 1

Learn the fundamentals of bouldering technique in this 90-minute class. For Beginner level (yellow, red, and green) climbers to unlock new movement techniques and skills.

BOULDERING 2

A 4-session series building on skills taught and developed from Bouldering 1. Each 2-hour session is designed for Intermediate level (green, purple, orange, black) climbers to deepen movement techniques and skills.

ADULT TEAM

A supportive, coach-led team for motivated adult climbers who want to push their limits, build community, and grow together through focused play and training. Talk to the front desk to learn more.

LEARN TO LEAD

Is top roping getting old? Do you want to take your rope climbing to the next level? Then this is the class for you! During this course you will learn how to lead climb and lead belay from our team of passionate and knowledgeable instructors. This course consists of two 3-hour sessions.

YOUTH CLIMBING CLASSES

Watching a child apply natural ability and curiosity to our walls is to witness the power of our sport. Yes, it’s meant to be fun, but under the guidance of our Youth Programs, climbing becomes a vehicle for developing resilience, confidence, and problem solving. Maybe most importantly, this is a place to build community and real life experiences.

Yes! You can purchase a day pass, which gives you all day access to the gym, including our Intro to Bouldering Project class and Bouldering 1 class.

Punch cards are also available for flexible access!

We have rental shoes, chalk, and harnesses available!

Absolutely! Refining your skills & fundamentals are keys to progression.

Intentionally practice the skills and drills from Bouldering 1 for a few months. A great place to do this is in Circuit Sessions!

You can also repeat Bouldering 1 as many times as you want!

We recommend taking Bouldering 2 after you’ve taken Bouldering 1 and have been climbing for another couple of months.

When you find yourself pushing into the Purple circuit, or when you find yourself hitting a plateau in progression through the upper circuits, is another good indicator you may be ready for Bouldering 2.
