Community Arts Program
Artist in Residence: Ben Burch
Ben Burch is a photographer and musician based in Mt. Pleasant, DC. Their exhibit, Reverbs, takes their photography practice and combines it with their musical work, smashing together the audio and visual data from an event to create these images. Recordings, photographs, they all exist to keep a memento of something we want to remember. In combining the data, the photos hope to get closer to the memory.
Ben has had his work displayed at Rhizome, climbing guidebooks, and has a published photography book titled Immaterial Climbing. An avid climber and musician, part of their obsession with keeping track of the past is to remember the communities they are involved in.
