Yoga Classes DC

Bend Don't Break

We’ll meet you along the path.

For some Bouldering Project members, yoga is the main event, while others find that their yoga practice helps maintain longevity, resilience, and flexibility in their climbing journey. Either way, we remember that yoga is a pathway of ancient physical, mental, and spiritual practices that is more important now than ever. Savor every breath.

Each class can be adapted for desired level of intensity.

For ages 14+. Youth ages 14-17 must be accompanied by an adult supervisor in class.

Low-Medium Intensity
A group of people practice yoga indoors on mats at DC Rock Climbing Gym, performing a triangle pose with one arm extended upward and the other touching the floor. Yoga blocks are nearby. The well-lit room features wooden floors.

ALIGN

ALIGN draws inspiration from Hatha yoga, from the Sanskrit “Ha” (solar) and “Tha” (lunar), representing the balance of opposing energies. The class emphasizes intentional, self-paced movement, allowing participants time to explore each posture with clarity and purpose. Foundational poses are practiced with attention to breath, alignment, and supportive hand placement. This accessible format supports those new to yoga while giving experienced practitioners space to refine technique and deepen body awareness.

Duration: 1 hour

Medium Intensity
A person wearing glasses, a purple headscarf, and white workout clothes is in a low lunge yoga pose on a mat indoors, arms raised as if climbing towards new heights, looking upwards. Another person is partially visible behind them.

FLOW

FLOW is a vinyasa-based yoga practice that focuses on linking breath to movement from pose to pose. Class sequences are set to an invigorating playlist to build strength, mobility, and full-body coordination. FLOW is a medium-intensity practice that will move at an accessible pace, making it suitable for students of all experience levels looking to build the mind-body connection.

Duration: 1 hour

Medium-High Intensity
A group of people practice yoga in a studio, performing a lunge pose with one arm extended upward, as if reaching toward a climbing hold. The room features wooden floors, mirrors, and plants in the background.

POWER FLOW

POWER FLOW is a high-intensity vinyasa-based yoga practice for those looking to challenge both body and mind. POWER FLOW takes the principles of ALIGN and FLOW, and expands on them by moving at a faster pace while offering progressive and regressive options for all poses and transitions. You will be invited to explore inversions safely in your body, and dive into building a deeper connection with your practice, while strengthening mind and body.

Duration: 1 hour

Low Intensity
A woman lying on a yoga mat, stretching on her back with one knee bent across her body and her opposite arm extended, practicing a spinal twist to improve flexibility for climbing.

RESTORE

RESTORE is a deeply supportive, calming and slow practice designed to help the body and mind fully unwind. Using props such as bolsters, blankets, and blocks, participants settle into gentle, supported postures that are held for several minutes at a time. This allows the body to release tension gradually while encouraging the nervous system to shift into a more restful, balanced state.
