Taylor

POPLAR

Bio: Hi! I am the Head Coach at SBP! I am mainly interested in working with youth competitive athletes and adults under 5’5’’.

At 5’3’’ with a +0 ape index, I want to share my experience as a short climber to help other short folks improve how they approach training, climbing, and mental performance. Combining 5 years of professional climbing coaching with my background as a certified personal trainer, I design targeted off-the-wall training programs to complement and enhance our work on the wall.

Personally, my focus is on board climbing and outdoor bouldering. I travel all over the world to test myself on rock. I recently got back from a month-long climbing trip in Rocklands, South Africa.

Preferred Demographics: Intermediate-Elite youth and adults, all ages

Availability: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays 11am-4pm; Wednesdays 4-8pm

I grew up on a youth climbing team in Texas and began competing when I was 11. Nowadays, I work as the assistant head coach for our Youth Climbing Team and Adult Team here at Poplar. It is my passion to help the next generation of climbers reach new heights, master challenging movements, and break through mental blocks on and off the wall.

Charlotte

POPLAR

Bio: My name is Charlotte and I have been climbing for over a decade! One aspect of climbing that I enjoy exploring is how climbing movement can be an art form. I love the feeling of climbing smoothly in a “dance-like” manner, which has made me especially passionate about movement efficiency, static positioning, and full-body tension on the wall. I believe that unlocking technical movement is one of the best and fastest ways to improve, and I love helping climbers build their technical toolbox and confidence on the wall. My favorite climbing discipline is outdoor sport climbing, but I love learning and coaching at the Bouldering Project, with people of all ages and skill levels.

Preferred Demographics: All ages and skill levels

Availability: Starting in October: Tuesdays/Thursdays/Fridays

Javion

POPLAR

Bio: I got my start in bouldering right here at the Bouldering Project in 2014. My specialty is coaching beginners and intermediate climbers who want to gain some perspective. When I was at that level, I didn’t have access to the classes we’ve built now and I learned from climbing with people with more experience. Now, I want to put climbers on the fast track to reaching their full potential.
