No School? No problem!
Climbing at Bouldering Project is a great way to stay active during time off from school. Adventure Days are offered on DCPS holidays and are ideal for ages 4-14. These single day camps offer plenty of climbing and social time, with arts and crafts and STEM activities. Whether your child is an experienced climber or brand new to bouldering, they will have a blast with our BP instructors leading the way. Kids will learn basic climbing techniques and play games on and off the wall!

WHAT TO EXPECT
Adventure Days run from 9:00am – 3:30pm on DCPS holidays. Kids must be between the ages of 4-14.
During our rock climbing day camp, kids will spend time learning how to climb in our kids room and main bouldering areas, participate in STEM and Arts activities, and more!
Campers will be broken up by age rage (4-6, 7-9, 10+). We provide climbing shoes and required program materials.

- Lava Rule: While you can reach some of the pipes and hvac equipment from the walls of our gym, we cannot touch them as they have lava in them and will spill it everywhere if we hang from the pipes.
- Butter Rule: Our climbing shoes are built a little bit differently than our outside shoes. They have a smooth bottom that makes them great for climbing, but if we run around with them on the pavement we will go slipping and sliding like butter in a hot pan. When we are on the pavement we cannot run, skip, hop, frolic, front flip, back flip, side flip or cartwheel.
- Bacon Rule: We want to make sure that our bodies are all warmed up before we start climbing. Doing some light activities and stretching is a great way to make sure our bodies are ready to climb and help to not break into pieces like cold bacon.
- Kindness Rule: Climbing, especially bouldering, is a community sport. We want to build our friends up and not tear them down with our words or actions. We also want to keep our bodies to ourselves as if we bump our friends they can fall and hurt themselves against the wall.
- Pancake Rule: It is our job when we are not climbing to give our friends on the wall the space they need to climb without worrying about if they might land on someone and smash them flat like a pancake. We want to stay away from the wall when we are not climbing to not be in their pancake zone. Additionally, if we can reach out and touch our friends while we are climbing, we’re too close to them and need to give them some space so everyone can climb safely.
