The place for your youth to climb, explore, and grow after school
After-school clubs at ABP offer tailored curriculum to young climbers ages 5 to 18. Throughout the semester, we teach climbers foundational skills and help them progress to more advanced techniques and challenges. We emphasize challenge-by-choice, offering enthusiastic direction and feedback, and celebrating every moment of growth. After school clubs at ABP are a great place for your child to develop self-confidence and make new friends!
Mini Mountaineers (Ages 5-6)
Mini-Mountaineers is a recreational program designed for kids aged 5-6 with a focus on being active, having fun, and promoting a love for climbing from an early age. Small class sizes ensure constant guidance and encouragement as these little ones prepare for a future of climbing and tackling new adventures. This club is a great place for young climbers to make friends, develop social-emotional skills, and learn to challenge themselves both on and off the wall.
Dyno-Saurs (Ages 7-9)
Dynos offers a fun, inventive, and supportive atmosphere for kids aged 7-9 to explore climbing movements and fundamentals. Our instructors emphasize challenge-by-choice, leading young boulderers in developing confidence, focus, and social skills through age-appropriate climbing activities. Throughout the semester, kids build on foundational climbing skills and gain confidence taking risks and trying new things.
Bombers (Ages 10-12)
With two hours of weekly climbing instruction, the Bombers program promotes technique, strength, and confidence through engaging group activities and individually tailored challenges. Over the course of the semester, climbers learn to implement new techniques and terminology and have the opportunity to support and celebrate each other’s progress. Instructors tailor lessons to each student’s unique strengths and abilities to ensure positive climbing experiences for everyone.
Rec-Team (Ages 13-18)
Rec Team is designed to foster personal growth through climbing in a noncompetitive platform. Our instructors facilitate a safe environment for young adult climbers to set and achieve personal goals, encourage each other to try hard, and develop positive relationships with movement. Instructor-guided lesson plans encourage climbers to develop critical thinking skills, challenge themselves, and grow their strength and skill on the wall. Our Rec Team program is offered to climbers 13-18 years old.
- Youth under the age of 14 must be closely accompanied by an adult at all times.
- Our supervision ratio is 2 to 1; up to 2 youth climbers can be supervised by 1 adult chaperone at a time.
- Stay far from the walls and out of fall zones when moving through the gym or waiting to climb. A “fall zone” is anywhere on the mats where a climber could land if they were to fall.
- Make sure to check where a route ends before starting to climb–some routes are close together or even overlap, and you don’t want to end up directly above, below, or next to another climber.
- This is a climbing gym! Please save running, wrestling, horseplay, and gymnastics for other spaces.
