A smiling girl in a purple shirt reaches out and bumps fists with someone, both hands covered in chalk dust, in a brightly lit Brooklyn indoor setting—capturing the joyful spirit of local After School Programs. Another person is blurred in the background. A young person with long hair climbs an indoor rock wall at a Brooklyn after school program, looking upward while gripping a yellow hold and balancing on angled surfaces with blue, gray, and yellow holds.
After School Programs

Press Play

We believe in the power of difficult play.

Connect. Grow. Climb. Call it higher learning. Our after-school programs provide kids a chance to take their first steps into the sport all the way to reaching its highest levels. Our instructors meet kids at their skill level.

Sign up for individual classes or 10-week sessions!

Saturday Mini Climbers

Guardians will accompany children in the space while a Youth Instructor provides guidance, belaying, and the opportunity to learn in a space designed for new climbers. This exciting and adaptable space encourages children to unleash their creativity and boundless energy, while fostering essential skills such as risk assessment, basic body awareness, and teamwork.

Climbers can sign up for 9:00 am – 10:00 am, 10:30 am – 11:00 am, or both!

Ages 5 and under. Younger children’s ability to use all walls may be limited when they start, but we encourage them to give it a try!

Rental shoes and a rental harness are included (usually $6 each). We now offer harnesses for smaller climbers!

Pebbles (Ages 5-7)

School of Pebbles is the youngest branch of our Kids Academy program. These classes are designed to provide kids ages 5-7 with an introduction to climbing, confidence training, and team building with their peers. Our curriculum teaches children the mental, physical and social aspects of climbing as they apply to life. Activities include bouldering, roped climbing, team building and climbing games.

School of Pebbles costs $325 for the 10-week session or $465 for a 12-pack that can be used for any classes over 365 days.

Fall session: September 29th to December 13th, skipping Thanksgiving week (November 24-28)

Winter Session: January 5th – March 21

Spring Session: March 30th – June 13th

School of Boulders (12-16)

We are very excited about the 10-week session as it will allow us to develop better relationships with the students, to customize the lessons/activities as we learn what the kids enjoy the most, and allow students to get to know each other better. It will also guarantee each child a spot for the full session.

Our Boulders program is designed youth ages 12 to 16 wanting to learn more about climbing and develop their climbing, calculated risk-taking, and overall strength. Some topics for the class include static vs dynamic climbing, types of climbing holds, body awareness, and resiliency in the face of challenges.
