Boulderfest 2025

Community

Choose either session to compete in a Redpoint-style comp with community.

Three categories:

  • Recreational (yellow, red, green)
  • Intermediate (purple, orange, black)
  • Advanced (black, blue, pink)

Every climb completed = 1 raffle ticket. The more climbs you complete, the more likely you are to win prizes!

Open

Open competitors (blue, pink, white*) across three divisions (men, women, non-binary) will vie for the chance to take home the cash purse!

Community Comp

The Boulderfest Community Competition is the star of the show. During this all-levels climbing competition competitors will have 3 hours to climb as many boulders in their category as possible. For every climb you top, you’ll get a raffle ticket!

Leading up to Boulderfest, our setting team will reset the entire gym with specialty boulders of all-levels, from Yellow Circuit to White Circuit.

Whether you’ve been climbing for years, or it’s your first ever comp, you’ll find something fun and challenging for you to climb!

The climbing at Boulderfest is the absolute best of what Bouldering Project and our setting team has to offer. It’s an incredible experience to climb and to watch others climb!

Open Qualifiers & Finals

The entire day culminates in an electric Open Finals competition.

Competitors entering Open Qualifiers should be prepared to climb Blue Circuit to White Circuit boulders.

During Open Finals, climbers will compete to claim the title of Boulderfest ’25 champion! The winners take home the cash purse and bragging rights.

All Day Party

The day kicks off with our community competition, and is followed by a whole day of activities. Our community comp, vendor market, live music, food and drinks, and Open Finals make the day one giant party you won’t want to miss!

FAQs

Our circuits range from V0-V8+, and the color order is yellow, red, green, purple, orange, black, blue, pink, white.

Choose the category that includes the color circuits that match your comfort and growth zones.

When trying your absolute hardest, if you are able to top 10 boulders in the highest color in that category within one climbing session, then you should compete at the next level up.

Some examples to help you decide:

  • “I generally climb purples/oranges/blacks. I can flash most oranges.” We recommend the Intermediate Category.
  • When trying your hardest, are you able to complete 10 black boulders in one climbing session? We recommend the Advanced Category.
  • When trying your hardest, are black boulders overall still challenging, meaning you can’t send 10 black boulders in one climbing session? We recommend the Intermediate Category.
  • Open competitors should be climbing predominantly blues, pinks, and whites. If you are able to climb white boulders, you more than likely should register for the Open category.

On Friday, October 31, the gym will close early at 3 PM to allow for our staff to prepare the space for the event and host the Open Division Qualifier Session.

The gym is closed to the public all day Saturday, November 1. Only people with competitor or spectator tickets will be allowed in the facility.

We will reopen for regular hours on Sunday, November 2 at 8 AM.

Yes. We will post the community divisions scores within 48 hours of the conclusion of the event.
