From bare feet to running shoes and chalky handprints next to squat racks—fitness is its own adventure here at Bouldering Project. We believe movement isn’t a one-size-fits-all endeavor so our fitness spaces and class offerings are designed with the tools you’ll need to feel empowered.

Circuit
This fitness class is for every fitness level! Circuit is a functional strength and conditioning class. Every workout starts with a progressive warmup, followed by an all-levels workout and then finishes with a cooldown. Each workout will have a mix of cardio and strength training. In this class you will use implements such as medicine balls, dumbbells, kettlebells and maces.
Circuit Express
Our Circuit Express class is a fast-paced circuit class for all fitness levels that is great for anyone on the go. In this short workout, you will get a high intensity, full body workout. Each workout will have a mix of cardio and strength training. In this class you will use implements such as medicine balls, dumbbells, kettlebells and maces.
Circuit Level 2
Our Circuit Level 2 is a strength and conditioning circuit that builds upon our Circuit class. The movements in this class are more complex and dynamic variations of the foundational movements learned in Circuit.
Core
This class is all about core stabilization and functional mobility. Here, instructors guide you through a series of exercises that strengthen and balance deep core muscles. You’ll also move through active ranges of motion to bring the body back to its natural posture. Students interested in supporting lower back health or learning new core exercises will love this class!
Mobility
In this class you will increase your active range of motion and stabilize your joints. You will move through loaded stretching techniques that strengthen your end ranges of motion and increase your functional flexibility. No matter what your sport is, this class will prepare you to tap into your body’s full potential.
Barre
Barre is a low impact total body workout that can challenge you physically and mentally. We practice a series of pilates and ballet movements and isometric holds that incorporate bodyweight and light dumbbell exercises. This class is excellent functional movement and mobility training for climbers.
Handstand Training
Learn techniques to begin or further develop your handstand journey. This all-levels class teaches you drills to support your handstand goals, while improving your flexibility, alignment, and shoulder strength.
Circuit

Movement Playground
Move and play to increase your adaptability and enjoyment of full-body movement. In this class we play games, expand our bodily awareness, and learn new methods of physical expression. Come prepared to build community and have fun. Leave with new ways to bring more vitality into your daily life.
Strength
Our signature fitness offering, this workout integrates total body strength with functional movement. Get ready for an engaging and fun total body workout with dumbbells, kettlebells, medicine balls, and more that will leave you feeling exhilarated and powerful.
Strength
Strength is a stripped-down way to build lean muscle. In this 50-minute total-body workout, our coaches will teach you to effectively use dumbbells, kettlebells, and medicine balls to become stronger! Each class welcomes new, intermediate, and advanced members who desire to grow stronger.
Endurance
Are you interested in getting faster and leaner? Let our coaches lead you through a fast-paced workout with full-body movement, high-intensity intervals, and 110% effort! Each class welcomes new, intermediate, and advanced members who desire to sweat.
Core
Whether sending big projects or extending your life’s active years, this 30-minute class is for building a solid, shredded core through functional core training! Each class welcomes new, intermediate, and advanced members who desire to move further and farther.
Mobility
This 40-minute class will challenge you to build tougher joints, move better, and prevent injury through functional mobility training! Each class welcomes new, intermediate, and advanced members who desire to move further and farther.

Barre
This 45 minute workout takes inspiration from both Ballet and Pilates, focusing on core engagement and smaller movements paired with high repetitions to build endurance in your stabilizing muscles. You will shake, pulse and sweat while mobilizing and supporting your joints. This low-impact format is perfect for every body and supports any movement practice that you enjoy.
Strength
Strength offers you a complete fitness experience in 45 minutes. This full-body workout is designed to improve strength and endurance, in a fun and motivating environment. Each class features a full-body warm-up, heart pumping cardio, focused strength training and mobilizing cool-down. Each exercise can be modified to meet your individual needs, making it suitable for any experience level. This class is cross-training for every athletic pursuit, or a stand-alone program for your health and fitness.
Core
Build a solid foundation. Core is a 30-minute group fitness workout targeted at strengthening everything from shoulders to knees. The intentional variety of movements and positions allows maximum effort while avoiding overuse. Each class is a customizable challenge, empowering you with options to scale up or modify throughout.
HIIT
This fast and fun 30 minute class will boost your heart rate and your cardio endurance. You’ll start with a dynamic 5 minute warm up, followed by 20 minutes of High Intensity Interval Training, and end with a 5 minute cool down. Expect short rest times, a variety of movements, and accessible modifications to make HIIT an efficient and effective workout for all fitness levels.
Strength for Climbers
This 60-min offering is designed to build strength and resilience in the body that will take your climbing to the next level. While this class features climbing-centric exercises, it is open and accessible to all students looking to build strength and endurance throughout the entire body, from fingers to toes.
Strength
Strength is Bouldering Project’s signature fitness offering. This 60-minute fun and sweaty workout integrates total body strength with functional movement that will challenge you, regardless of your fitness level. Every class starts with a progressive warm-up, followed by a total body workout using dumbbells, kettlebells, medicine balls, resistance bands, and other equipment, and finishes with a cool down. You will leave feeling alive, exhilarated, and strong.
Quick Fit
This class will take you through a rigorous total body HIIT style workout that aims to consistently have your heart rate elevated. Build your cardiovascular fitness while improving muscular strength and endurance. You will be challenged to push your limits and will leave this class empowered and ready to take on the day.
Core
A strong core is at the center of building and toning muscles all over your body. Improve your posture and build a strong core through a variety of exercises designed to strengthen your abdomen and back muscles while increasing your flexibility. Walk taller, feel stronger.
Mobility
This class is for climbers and movers of all types who want to improve their mobility with low-impact bodyweight exercises. This draws from various movement disciplines, including yoga, calisthenics, and acrobatics, to help condition your body to get stronger and more flexible as an athlete, a climber and as a human.
Strength and Conditioning
This class is for every fitness level. In this strength and conditioning circuit you’ll get a progressive warm up and a full body workout. Each workout will have a mix of cardio and strength training. You will have the opportunity to use implements such as kettlebells, dumbbells, medicine balls, and resistance bands, along with bodyweight exercises.
Core
Perfect for supplementing another class or climbing session, this class will activate and strengthen all core aspects of your body, including shoulders, back, abdominals, and hips. Expect to be challenged and have fun while finding new stability in your body and greater functional strength.
Strength and Conditioning
This class is for every fitness level! In this strength and conditioning circuit you’ll get a progressive warm up and a full body workout. Each workout will have a mix of cardio and strength training. You will have the opportunity to use implements such as kettlebells, dumbbells, medicine balls, and resistance bands, along with bodyweight exercises.
Movement (90 Minutes)
Come develop more physical adaptability and body intelligence! This class will take elements from gymnastics, martial arts, parkour, dance, handstands, strength training, and more to explore the universe of human movement patterns. There are progressions for everyone – all ages, all body types, all injuries – and you’ll never be put on the spot. It will be playful, challenging, and will make you think. Rolling around on the ground is fun and bound to happen in this class, so please be mindful of clothing with clasps on the back.
Core
Perfect for supplementing another class or climbing session. This class will activate and strengthen all core aspects of your body, including shoulders, back, abdominals, and hips. Expect to be challenged and have fun while working to find new stability in your body and greater functional strength.
Tyler Brent
Tyler (she/her) is an experienced group fitness instructor as well as a 200-E-RYT yoga instructor with over 1,500 teaching hours under her belt. She’s been teaching yoga and fitness since 2017 and falls in love with instructing more each day. Tyler is DC Bouldering Project’s Yoga & Fitness Manager so you can almost always find her taking classes, teaching classes, and climbing. When Tyler isn’t at the gym, she’s probably singing Taylor Swift to her cats, reading in the sun, and/or mobilizing her community around what she’s passionate about – from social justice to karaoke to finding the best ramen in the DMV.
Matthew Byrd
Coach Byrd hails from Raleigh North Carolina and in 2013 enlisted as a machine Gunner in the United States Marine Corp. He became a veteran and father in 2017 to Maxwell. Coach Byrd is new to the DMV and has a passion to be one of the best coaches in the 202. He has led and trained over 80 Marines as well as other armed forces. “5AM PT is when the work gets done and the Marines run.” Utilizing his experience and training as a Marine Coach Byrd hopes to excite, motivate and inspire others to push past their limitations. Byrd leads from the front and believes that when we adapt we can overcome many obstacles.

Kerry DeMella
Kerry is an ACE-certified group fitness instructor who specializes in high-energy workouts. Since 2017, Kerry has been dedicated to creating classes with a welcoming and inclusive environment at multiple gyms spanning from Philadelphia to DC. Join her for heart-pounding HIIT sessions and core-strengthening classes designed to empower and energize. With a background in chemistry, Kerry brings a unique perspective to fitness, focusing on promoting active and healthy lifestyles. Get ready to break a sweat, build strength, and connect with a vibrant community!
Kaitlyn Dolan
Kaitlyn is a visual journalist by day, cardio and strength instructor by morning. Find her subbing the sunrise classes and expect fun, throwback-laden playlists with lots of combination movements. Kaitlyn moved to DC from an island in the Chesapeake Bay, though she’s originally from Massachusetts, and currently lives in Bloomingdale with her rabbit, Saison.
Diamond Baird
Diamond is a certified Personal Trainer N.S.C.A and certified low back specialist. Diamond received her B.S ( Human Performance Sports Science from The Tennessee State University with a minor in Nutrition. Gaining a new found hobby in running, Diamond has expertise in training long distance runners during in season and offseason training. Diamond specialize in Strength and Conditioning, Weight loss, Women’s health and Nutrition. Diamond’s approach to fitness is movement is medicine. The way we train is vital to everyday movement.
Nadia Mathis
Nadia (she/her) teaches our Core Burn class on Thursdays and Handstands on Sundays. She was a gymnast for most of her life and has taught gymnastics for 9 years. Nadia’s classes focus on form and shaping. Her goal is to offer something for everyone, whether it’s your first time stepping into a class or you’re looking for tips on a press handstand.
Wei Wu
Wei is a Certified Group Fitness Instructor by AFAA and LesMills (BODYPUMP, BODYCOMBAT). Wei has been passionate about fitness since his childhood. He was a trained track athlete in college. Besides motivating others to accomplish fitness goals, Wei also wants to create a safe class and welcoming environment for all members at any level.
Zach Hubert
Zach (he/him) is a trainer with 5 years of experience in the fitness industry. He specializes in muscle growth, endurance, and nutrition and fat loss. When he isn’t coaching, he loves climbing, being outdoors, competing in triathlons, powerlifting, and road running.
Joe Harden
Joe has been working as a fitness coach since he was a teenager. He is a certified personal trainer, group fitness instructor, boxing coach, and cat & dog dad! He’s excited to get involved with the DCBP community both in classes and on the walls.
Miranda Lampke
Miranda is a seasoned trainer who hopes to share her love of movement with fellow gym goers. She received her Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology from Columbia University, where her research examined resistance training and chronic pain. She has helped clients reach a variety of goals, including powerlifting meets, changes in body composition, and adaptations specific to climbing. She also ran her own small business and oversaw a small team of coaches with a mission to help individuals with chronic disease implement the exercise and dietary changes recommended by their doctors and indicated by their specific health concerns. As for her own fitness pursuits, you can usually find her falling off one of the towers in the East Wing.
Sarah Strupp-Levitsky
Sarah Strupp-Levitsky is a group fitness instructor from Los Angeles. She has been teaching fitness classes for over 8 years — from large master classes to small boutique studios — and is excited to bring her energetic classes to DC Bouldering Project! She spends her days in the hospital in cardio-thoracic surgery, and her evenings dancing to reggaeton, hip hop and R&B, but is excited to spend her days off sharing her love of fitness.
Lindsay Demblowski
Lindsay (she/her) has been teaching group fitness classes since 2019. While she has always walked to the beat of her own drum, her passion lies in matching active movement with the driving force of music. Her goal is to make you forget just how hard you’re working. Lindsay was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, and has been living in DC since 2016.
