WHY FAMILIES LOVE SUMMER ADVENTURES

Summer Adventures is Bouldering Project’s summer camp for ages 4 through 14. Packed with a full day of bouldering, games, and arts & crafts, we’ll keep your kid engaged all day long. All skill levels are welcome – no experience necessary!

Highlights include:

  • Open arts & craft time
  • Outdoor lunch (weather permitting)
  • As much climbing as your rock-star can handle
  • Empowering skills that will last a lifetime

Our staff are all experienced climbers and educators with more than enough energy to keep your kids psyched for the whole day. Our 1:5 ratio allows the instructors to get to know each child, make sure their needs are met, and create memories that will last forever.

WHAT TO EXPECT

During the week, campers will spend time learning the ins and outs of climbing, participate in STEM/ARTS activities, and more. Each week of summer camp is themed, keeping the camp engaging and fun all summer long!

Campers will be broken up by age range (4-6, 7-9, 10+). We provide climbing shoes and required program materials.

We are not able to accommodate children under the age of 4. Children must be able to use the bathroom independently.

What to Bring

  • Dress for a day packed with activity! Stretchy pants and socks are perfect. We will provide climbing shoes.
  • Bring a water bottle and at least one snack. We will have plenty of breaks for snack time
  • Pack a filling lunch that doesn’t need to be microwaved! If your child has allergies, please let our team know and we will make appropriate accommodations.
  • If your child does not have a lunch and parents/caregivers are unable to be reached, food will be purchased with the card on file.

Program Highlights

  • Yoga for Youth taught by certified instructors
  • Technical and engaging climbing instruction
  • STEM & ARTS activities that change all summer long

Youth Rules and Expectations

Climbing is an exciting and fun sport—but it does come with risks. Bouldering Project instructors are trained to mitigate these risks for youth and other climbers. Before climbing with us, we will go over rules and expectations.

  1. No running
  2. Inside voices
  3. Listen to your instructor
  4. Stay with the group
  5. Keep your hands to yourself
  6. Take your shoes off when you go to the bathroom
  7. Stay on the edge of the mat when you’re not climbing
  8. Have fun & Try your best!
  1. Lava Rule: While you can reach some of the pipes and hvac equipment from the walls of our gym, we
cannot touch them as they have lava in them and will spill it everywhere if we hang from the
    pipes.
  2. Butter Rule: Our climbing shoes are built a little bit differently than our outside shoes. They have a smooth
bottom that makes them great for climbing, but if we run around with them on the pavement
we will go slipping and sliding like butter in a hot pan. When we are on the pavement we
cannot run, skip, hop, frolic, front flip, back flip, side flip or cartwheel.
  3. Bacon Rule: We want to make sure that our bodies are all warmed up before we start climbing. Doing some
light activities and stretching is a great way to make sure our bodies are ready to climb and
help to not break into pieces like cold bacon.
  4. Kindness Rule: Climbing, especially bouldering, is a community sport. We want to build our friends up and not
tear them down with our words or actions. We also want to keep our bodies to ourselves as if
we bump our friends they can fall and hurt themselves against the wall.
  5. Pancake Rule: It is our job when we are not climbing to give our friends on the wall the space they need to
climb without worrying about if they might land on someone and smash them flat like a
pancake. We want to stay away from the wall when we are not climbing to not be in their
pancake zone. Additionally, if we can reach out and touch our friends while we are climbing,
we’re too close to them and need to give them some space so everyone can climb safely.
