Myofascial Release
Primarily utilizing yoga therapy balls, learn to release tight muscles through self-massage. Consider this class the perfect way to recover and release tension before or after a workout or climbing session. Please note: Fitted, flexible clothing is ideal for myofascial release work (70-75F).

This series will help prepare new students for FLOW and POWER FLOW and offers returning students an opportunity to further understand alignment and intention of postures at a slower pace.

Then we’ll train through a progression of handstand practices that’ll help you get stronger and more confident spending time upside down! Beginners welcome–no experience necessary.
Sound Bath
Ease into resting mode at the end of the day with a sound bath. You will be “bathed” (fully clothed) in meditative sounds played live using crystal singing bowls and other instruments. First, we’ll prep the physical body for rest with some gentle breathing and stretching, then you’ll be invited to take a comfortable position on your mat either sitting or laying down based on your preference. Your very important job for the remainder of the time is just to breathe and relax into the sound waves.
Feel free to bring warm clothing, socks, and/or blankets.

Sound Bath
The experience begins with each person lying down or seated in a comfortable position, with the option to use the support of props (blankets, blocks, boulders) for ultimate comfort. After a few minutes of guided focus on the breath, the remainder of the time is filled with different sounds and frequencies. The sounds are created by a set of crystal sound bowls that resonate at different tones and when played together, create new sounds.
The sounds introduced during a Sound Bath are an invitation into a deeper state of consciousness, an opportunity to unplug from external stimuli and to gain perspective on what’s going on within you. The goal of the experience is to invite deep rest and relaxation, and explore self-inquiry and self-discovery. Other potential benefits include significantly reduce tension and lower levels of stress, anxiety, depression, anger and even physical pain.
Mobility For Climbers
In this 60-minute offering, you’ll work to create active range of motion for your joints and musculature, learn about muscle activation, and create a fluid and dynamic movement practice. With a heavy focus on building proprioception in the body, these skills will translate directly to your movement on the wall. No prior experience necessary.
Core Compression for Climbers
Core compression is generally an underrepresented form of strengthening our abdominal muscles. Have you ever wondered how some climbers make accessing a high foot look so easy? The answer is core compression! This 30 minute class will teach you how to compress your midsection, make those “boxed in” boulder problems feel accessible, and give your abs a burn!
Trigger Point Massage Workshop
In this 60-minute class we will learn how to use a new tool, the 5-inch trigger point ball, for self-myofascial release. The ball allows us to work into muscles that can be hard to reach with foam rollers, like all around the shoulder complex and points within the hip. It also allows us to massage muscles while standing and leaning against the wall instead of always applying pressure while on the ground.
Why should we foam roll? Myofascial release techniques help relieve pain by reducing tightness and tension in muscles. It encourages blood flow and oxygen to bring nutrients to muscles, and it helps us improve range of motion and performance.
Outdoor Yoga
Make the most of the season! Bring your practice outside with us all Summer at Waterworks at Mill Ruins park. A 60-min, all-level Vinyasa offering that is open for the entire community. Bring your mat, your water and your neighbors!
Mobility Clinic
Join Grace Thompson (personal trainer, runner, and climber extraordinaire) for monthly 90-minute mobility clinics at DC Bouldering Project! During these clinics, we will learn techniques to improve our mobility, efficiency, strength, flexibility, and safety both on and off the wall. Open to all athletes (both climbers and non-climbers) of all ability and experience levels. Membership not required.
Arm Balances
Want to get better at crow pose and learn other arm balances? Take Flight! is a monthly yoga workshop that gives you tips and tricks to get your body off the ground with arm balances! We will explore arm balance foundations and break down more poses than you knew existed. The workshop will also explain how to incorporate arm balances into your vinyasa flow class. Come with a playful spirit, requests, and questions!
