Kayra Norris

HEAD COACH

Over the last 10 years of climbing, I’ve stayed motivated by finding new ways to push myself, and by the people I get to share those experiences with. I’m especially focused on outdoor bouldering, and more recently trying to break into the world of competition climbing.

My goal on the adult team is to create an environment where people are excited to challenge themselves, while also remembering that the community, and having fun, are two of the best parts of climbing. I believe your level of try-hard should reflect the goals you set for yourself. You get to decide how much you want to challenge yourself, and we’re here to support you along the way.

Jonah Phung

ASSISTANT COACH

I have stepped in and out of climbing for the last 19 years, mostly in. Something that continues to bring me back and push me to climb is the community. In the last few years my focus in climbing has been teaching and helping others understand how to move on the wall.

My goal and my role that I want to play on the adult team is to help connect people with climbing, and community. I believe that climbing is an amazing way to connect with your own body and how it moves. The climbing community as a whole is friendly, helpful, and supportive so any time that I can help people into that community fills my soul.

FAQ

Adult team is a place for motivated and committed individuals to learn new skills to help accomplish their goals while building a culture of inspiration and accountability. Our coaches will introduce athletes to mental training, skill development and physical training concepts in a fun and playful atmosphere.

Though you are welcome to try the team for a single month, it is not recommended due to the contents of the class. The curriculum is designed for those wanting to commit to a season of community, improvement, and accountability.

Membership is not required to join the Team, but participants may want to complete their “homework” outside of practice times each week which often requires usage of the facility. Memberships, punch cards, and day passes are NOT included in your registration fee.

This program is designed for ages 18 and up. Please inquire with Trinity (trinity.johnson@boulderingproject.com) for programs for ages under 18.

Coaches will assign “homework” based on topics covered each week. Homework is always optional, but recommended to get the most out of the team. Assignments might include specific drills, workouts, climbing circuits, etc., and will be scalable to all levels.
