The place for your youth to climb, explore, and grow after school
Geared for school-aged youth, our camps and adventure programs offer plenty of climbing and social time for kids of all experience levels. We design our curriculum to reduce stress, ease the intimidation of heights and falling, and make climbing approachable in a fun and supportive way. We also stress to our students that the goal is not to be the best climbers in the world—the goal is to love climbing and love doing it with one another.
Please note that demand for our youth programs and camps often exceeds the number of available spots and sign-ups are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Adventure Days
Adventure Days at Austin Bouldering Project is an active and fun way to spend your day off school. ABP Camps are geared for youth ages 5-6, 7-9, and 10-12 and offer plenty of climbing and social time. Our Instructors will guide new and experienced climbers through engaging activities that will keep their minds and bodies active. Kids will learn basic climbing techniques, terminology, and play games both on and off the wall.
- Youth under the age of 14 must be closely accompanied by an adult at all times.
- Our supervision ratio is 2 to 1; up to 2 youth climbers can be supervised by 1 adult chaperone at a time.
- Stay far from the walls and out of fall zones when moving through the gym or waiting to climb. A “fall zone” is anywhere on the mats where a climber could land if they were to fall.
- Make sure to check where a route ends before starting to climb–some routes are close together or even overlap, and you don’t want to end up directly above, below, or next to another climber.
- This is a climbing gym! Please save running, wrestling, horseplay, and gymnastics for other spaces.
