A 112-year-old historic bank building has sat vacant for many years – we’ve reimagined it as a climbing gym. A 50s era ballroom? Bouldering terrain. The 200,000 pound bank vault? Infrared sauna. With the redesign, the space is awash with natural light and includes two floors of climbing, a cold plunge, a yoga studio, and space for coworking – all just steps away from the U campus and the light rail.

A Look Inside
The University District gym will be a 22,000 square foot space showcasing Bouldering Project’s unique design aesthetic within the framework of a historic landmark. The gym will hold almost 7,000 square feet of climbing terrain, and the walls will stand at 14 – 17 feet above the slab floor. Like in all of our gyms, there will be a dedicated yoga studio, along with open functional fitness space. We’ve worked to highlight the architecture of the original building, and we’re even building a sauna inside of the old bank vault. Sign up for our newsletter below to stay up to date on the progress.

Yes! We have started hiring for some positions at the University District. Visit our employment page for open positions.
Nope, you can attend as many yoga and group fitness classes as you’d like, all of which are included in the price of your membership or day pass.
We sometimes run specialty workshops for an extra fee, but we aim to run them so that they don’t overlap with regularly scheduled yoga and fitness classes.
