Intro to Nutrition for Performance w/ Elisha

  • Learn how to optimize nutrition to get the most out of your athletic performance.  Whether you’re preparing for competition or just wanting to improve your health and have more sustained energy through workouts and life, this workshop is for you!

Intro to Deadlifts & Squats w/ Carter Ellis

  • Getting started with squatting and deadlifting can be intimidating. These workouts are crucial functional movements for day-to-day life. You’ll leave with knowledge on topics such as proper-alignment, breath, flexibility (particularly in ankles/hips) and increasing load safely.

Intro to Hangboarding w/ Caro Platiau
Tuesday, October 22 | 6:30 – 7:45 PM | Fitness Area

  • Tailored for climbers with ~1 year of experience who are ready to elevate their training! In this workshop, you’ll learn: effective warm-up techniques to prepare your body; an overview of the different types of hangboards and their unique benefits; and key principles of proper form to ensure safety and effectiveness.

Ready, Set, Boulderfest

Tuesday, October 22 from 7:00 – 8:00 PM

Your guide to competition climbing. Are you competing for the first time? Wanting to learn how to better prepare yourself for competition performance? Join our Head Team Coach, Santana Pastores, for a workshop to get yourself ready for Boulderfest on October 26!

  • Mental Prep: Unlock techniques to build focus and conquer competition nerves
  • Fueling Yourself: Learn how to nourish your body for peak performance on the big day
  • Day-of Guide: Make a plan for what to bring with you and what to expect when you arrive
  • Personal Goal Setting: Tips on how to maximize your experience and crush your goals

Whether you’re a first-timer or looking to sharpen your skills, this workshop will empower you to approach competitions with excitement and confidence. Come ready to learn, share, and connect with fellow climbers as we gear up for an epic Boulderfest!

Board Basics

Kilter Board on Wednesday, October 23 | 6:00 – 8:00 PM | with Nikki
Tension Board 2.0 on Thursday, October 24 | 6:00 – 8:00 PM | with Santana

Interested in learning how to use the climbing training boards? If you’ve ever felt intimidated or overwhelmed by the idea of stepping into the board bubble, then this event is for you. As with learning anything new, it’s helpful to have a guide through the process!

These low-key board nights are perfect for those new to board climbing or interested in learning more about how the Kilter Board and Tension Board 2.0 works. We’ll go over the basics of how the boards and app functions and provide a tick list of climbs ranging from V0-4 that you can try your hand at, all with the supportive guidance of Bouldering Project staff.

Recovery for Climbers

A workshop series, led by Caro Platiau, on physical recovery strategies using various props (golf balls/tennis balls, etc) for myofascial release and other recovery techniques. 

What to expect during each 1 hour workshop:

  • Assess your aches, pains, & mobility.
  • Practice mobility, massage, & breathing techniques to incorporate into your climbing routine. 
  • Gain tools to become a stronger, more efficient climber.

Tuesdays at 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM, led by Caro Plataiu

HIIT 45

Free for members. Non-members can access with day pass or punch pack.

A 45-minute, full-body, strength and cardio circuit (in the cardio-suite next to kids room) designed to build lean muscle and improve cardiovascular health.

Expect a high-intensity, all-levels, group-workout that is fun (type 2), fast-ish, & that can help you reach your climbing and fitness goals. You’ll be motivated to step up to your edge of possibility, and encouraged to stay in it by your peers pushing hard alongside you!
